About us. First up, Heather Dyer CNP

Who are the founders of Save the Wave Skincare? We thought we would introduce you to them on a person level, one at a time, from a personal point of view. By knowing us personally and understanding where our skin and self-care passion comes from, our new and existing customers should be at ease trusting the validity of our brand, our integrity and our medical training in order to create a quality collection for you.

Hello, I’m Heather Dyer. I am a Certified Nurse Practitioner, in a busy internal medicine office, located in Southern Pines, North Carolina. I see patients age 13+ and manage their preventative care and chronic medical management. Daily, I will treat a variety of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and everything in-between. I have a passion for health and wellness and have been eating a plant-based diet for over 3 years. I love talking with patients about their health and why diet and exercise play a critical role in prevention and reversal of disease.

I am originally from Hingham, Massachusetts, but have also lived in South Boston, and Quincy MA, before relocating permanently to North Carolina to raise my family.

As an avid sports player in high school, I attended Penn State University to play Lacrosse, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After college, I worked in a variety of jobs to include working in a research lab, gym facility and ended up being a pharmaceutical and medical device sales rep for several years. None of these jobs fulfilled my desire to help people, so I decided to head back to school (at the time, with two very young kids) to get my nursing degree, and then continue on to get my Masters of Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing.

My husband Ezra and I have been happily married since 2006 and have two amazing boys, Finey and Rhys (ages 8,9).

I enjoy going to great restaurants with friends, running, HIIT, playing with my kids (and dogs), and recently developed a love of Peloton training.

Along with many of you, I absolutely LOVE traveling and seeing other parts of the world. Although I don’t get to travel nearly as much as I would like, my FAVORITE place I’ve been to is Italy, and I hope to get back there soon (after a certain pandemic subsides).

Elena (my sister and business partner) and I live ½ mile away from each other. It was on one of our many dog walks when we came up with the idea of starting Save the Wave Skincare. We knew NOTHING about running a business but knew our mission of simplifying skincare and creating a company that gave back to the environment was something so many people could get behind.

It’s been a wild ride and we are so lucky to have such amazingly loyal customers.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

-Heather
