Waves of Skinspiration

What is THAT on my skin?! Day 2: Atypical Moles.
We all get SOME ultraviolet exposure during the day, even if just doing our day to day activities such as riding in the car, going to the store, walking our dogs, and going to the post office, etc. It is important to PROTECT our skin every day from this incidental exposure.  EVERY DAY we need to apply a mineral-based broad-spectrum water resistant sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy and overcast days. Focus on high exposure areas such as the face, neck, chest, ears, hands, and the top of the head. Other sun protective measures include seeking shade from 10am to 4pm if possible, protective clothing such as long sleeve shirts and wide brim hats. Remember to reapplying sunscreen every 80 minutes after swimming or sweating.

How old do you look? Ask your hands.
Want to know a person's age? Just look at their hands.
We have all heard that before, and for good reason. After the face, the hands are the second most visible, tell-tale signs of a person’s age - and one of the most neglected parts of our body.
Think of all our hands do for us, and all we put them through during an average day; Fine detail work, picking up groceries, washing dishes, planting a garden, incessant hand washing with drying soaps, brushing the dog, cooking dinner, cleaning the house, helping to build a Lego set, laundry, and the list literally goes on and on (and on).
The least we can do is show our hands a little love.

Spring SPF Planning: From Head to Toe!
We often discuss the importance of applying a daily SPF, as great looking healthy skin starts with consistent protection from ultraviolet radiation. We cannot stress enough that EVERY day, 365 days a year, we should be protecting all exposed areas of skin (especially focusing on the face, neck and chest) with a sunscreen that has at least an SPF 30. While sunscreen is the true MVP, other protective gear like hats, sunglasses, long sleeves, swim shirts, and pants definitely contribute to the success of the team.
