Waves of Skinspiration

Winter skin.
There are so many reasons for us to have this terrible winter skin: eczema, the dry cold months of the season, and aging skin. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what can help, but we took the time and did the work on your behalf.
Teen Skincare.
Teens.
As if they weren't going through enough: school, relationships, sports, and family. The teen years can also be a challenging time for their skin and hair: acne, oily complexion and hair, seborrhea (which can cause irritation and flaking), and early sun damage. Let us at least simplify the skincare issue for them.
Hey guys? We are talking to you!
"I'm a guy - I don't like to put things on my skin." We must hear this 10 times a day in clinical practice, when we ask gentlemen about their skincare routine. Whaaaaat? Hold the line! There is nothing easier (or sexier) than healthy, great looking skin. We’re here to change your mentality on the topic (for the better).
Winter Wonderland
Winter months are a magical time of the year. Snow and ice, bundling up in our favorite sweater, hot cocoa, fireplaces, snow days, and sledding are just a few of our favorite things this time of year, but the cold, dry air can wreak havoc on our skin. In addition to the changes in the environment, we tend to use more drying heat to stay cozy in our house and take longer, warmer showers. All of that combined tends to dry out our skin. Dry skin tends to be irritable skin. It's even worse for our friends who have compromised skin already, such as those with aging skin, eczema and psoriasis.
New Year, New Goals!
We are one week into 2020, and Heather and I have spent time mapping out our goals for the New Year. We recognize that life is busy, complicated and there was much to reflect on in 2019: professional goals, health, fitness, children and family, our role in the community/world, environmental impacts, and of course Save the Wave Skincare.
Do I need an eye cream?
When talking about skin care routines with patients, I often get this question. For my younger patients, and eye cream may not be necessary, but for most of us over the age of 30, a specific product for the eyes can be very beneficial.
Quality doesn’t have to be expensive.
“The cold and dry air of the fall and winter months can be especially harsh and irritating to our skin. We formulated a solution for that.” -Heather & Elena.
